Between sea, history and cliffs
Welcome to Dieppe

Dieppe, France's premier seaside resort, is appealing for its maritime atmosphere, its lively port and its long promenades facing the English Channel.

Nestled between the cliffs of the Alabaster Coast, the pebble beach, the castle overlooking the town, and the narrow streets of the historic center, the town offers an ideal setting for a seaside holiday. Visitors can enjoy water sports, markets, fish restaurants, walks along the seafront, or excursions to neighboring villages.

Dieppe is also a popular destination for its heritage, lively atmosphere and magnificent sunsets.

Dieppe Tourist Office

A city facing the sea Authentic Norman charm

In Dieppe, every walk offers a view of the sea, the cliffs, or the port. Between its maritime heritage, fishermen's quarter, lively beach, and exceptional panoramas from the castle, the town invites you to slow down and fully enjoy the Norman sea air.

Heritage & History Dieppe Castle

Perched on the heights of the city, Dieppe Castle overlooks the sea and the seafront. This former medieval fortress now houses a museum dedicated to the city's maritime history, ivory collections, and Dieppe traditions.

From the esplanade, the view of the cliffs, the port and the beach is remarkable.

Seaside walks The beach and the seafront

Dieppe beach is ideal for enjoying a family day out, strolling along the seafront, or admiring the famous colorful beach huts. The seafront offers cafes, terraces, and entertainment throughout the year.

At low tide, walks on the pebbles and shore fishing are among the must-do activities.

Iconic district The Pollet

Formerly a fishing district located on the other side of the port, Le Pollet retains an authentic atmosphere with its narrow streets, traditional houses and maritime history.

It can be accessed in particular via the Pont Colbert, the last manual swing bridge in Europe still in operation.

Nature & hiking The Normandy cliffs

The area around Dieppe offers magnificent scenery between the sea and the countryside. The coastal paths allow you to walk along the cliffs of the Alabaster Coast and discover exceptional panoramas of the English Channel.

Hiking enthusiasts particularly appreciate the GR21 which crosses the region.
